Ocean Beach California

Ocean Beach California is one of the most laid back historical beach communities in Southern California. Located along the San Diego coast Ocean Beach provides about a mile strip of beach and about 2.5 miles of cliffs and coastlines.

Ocean Beach is well known for having one of the best and most popular Dog Beaches in San Diego along with having the longest pier on the west coast and being notorious for keeping national fast food chains out of their downtown area.

Ocean Beach has a nice downtown area on Newport Avenue, which like most beach communities starts right by the pier area and goes inland for about 6 blocks. There are more antique shops per capita than any other area in San Diego along with some classic diners, surf shops, clothing boutiques, art galleries, record shops, head shops and more.

Ocean Beach is one of San Diego and Southern California's best hidden gems and one worth visiting when you have a day off and are looking for something to do.
