Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon is a non competitive event that raises funds for orphaned animals at the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
Here is how it works, surfers pledge to catch a set number of waves (in a one hour time frame) then solicit friends and neighbors for financial support of their efforts.
Swamis surf association will also hold a contest for longest ride and best trick. Vendors from the surf and pet industries will host booths sampling great products for attendees. Local radio and television stations will be involved in the promotion of this event, with expected attendance in the thousands!

The Helen Woodward Animal Center is a unique non-profit organization in San Diego County that for over 30 years has been committed to the philosophy of people helping animals and animals helping people.

At Helen Woodward Animal Center, people help animals and animals help people. Located on 12 acres in Rancho Santa Fe, the nationally recognized Center houses adoption kennels, stables and arena for the Therapeutic Riding program, a pet boarding facility, small-animal and equine hospitals, classrooms, and more.
The Helen Woodward Animal Center receives no government funding and relies heavily on tax-deductible contributions from private donors to continue its mission.
Helen Woodward Animal Center offers a broad array of services including
ACES (Animal Center Education Services)
Shelter personnel from around the country and the world experience a 3-day intensive workshop on the best practices for successful animal center management.
Therapeutic Riding The physically and mentally challenged of all ages enjoy the many benefits of horseback riding sessions.
Pet Encounter Therapy Hospice patients, abused children, and seniors receive unconditional love from animals that visit them weekly.
AniMobile The Center’s educators travel in a customized RV with animal ambassadors to Title One/low income schools teaching children responsible pet care and compassion for animals.
AniMeals The Center provides food for pets of elderly and disabled homebound individuals by working with Meals-on-Wheels and Jewish Family Service.
Adoptions Each year the center finds loving, lifelong homes for over 2,400 orphaned pets in the San Diego area and 387,000 worldwide.

2007 Summer Bikini Bash Swimsuit Contest
The Wave House Mission Beach
The first annual Summer Bikini Bash was held in Mission Beach
at The Wave House with over 40 contestants competing to be
one of five girls flown to Mexico for one week. Contestants
came from all over San Diego and Southern California.
Hosted by Promo Models Inc. of Pacific Beach San Diego,
there were plenty of fun and beautiful models enjoying a sunny afternoon
along the beach in San Diego.
