Mariner’s Point
Mariner’s Point is a large sandy peninsula off of Bonita Cove. The tip of Mariner’s Point is a Least Tern nesting area and park users must be at least 500 feet away from this protected area. A permit for up to 250 people and 2 inflateables can be issued for this site. There is a picnic shelter and restrooms available.

- From South or East San Diego, take I-8 to the Sports Arena Blvd. exit, make a right onto West Mission Bay Drive and continue on to West Mission Bay Drive ramp. Continue over the bridge and the parking lot will be on the left-hand side. - From North San Diego, take I-5 to the Sea World Drive exit, make a right onto Sea World Drive and continue on to West Mission Bay Drive ramp. Continue over the bridge and the parking lot will be on the left-hand side. - Parking is free in these lots.
Special Tips for Big Events like the AVP
*If you do not get there until 10:30AM or later DO NOT COME OVER THE BRIDGE to Mariners Point. There is a stop light at West Mission Bay Drive and Quivara Way. At that light there is The Dana Inn and Marina and The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay. Take a left and park on Quivara.
Parking fills up fast on weekends and it is better to park and walk 3-4 blocks rather than drive in circles in full parking lots by The Bahia Hotel and The Mission Beach Roller Coaster.
Park on Quivara Way and walk over the bridge into the area. See second map for details.
