This year, the La Jolla Motor Car Classic was dedicated to the automobiles of Carroll Shelby. For you gearheads and car nuts, that’s really all you need to know, but if you’re from my generation, it’s like this: Carroll Shelby inspired and helped design the 1967 Shelby Mustang GT 500, the car known as “Eleanor” in a certain Nicolas Cage movi showcased on the ocean at beautiful La Jolla Cove.
